We Sell Postcards To Fund Kristen’s Medical Care

In 2021, Kristen’s life was forever changed by a catastrophic flash flood while guiding a trip through the Grand Canyon. A concentrated storm started bringing down a flood of rocks and water from the cliffs above their camp. As she worked to get people out of their tents and into the boats, a boulder fell on her pelvis, organs, and ribs. She survived the night in the canyon but now lives with complex chronic pain and disabilities that prevent her from working or living independently. She receives disability payments from the government but they do not come close to covering her ongoing medical care. Before the accident Kristen was a photographic explorer and was the 13th person in history to hike the entire north Rim of the Grand Canyon. Cammie and Kristen bought a drone together to learn to fly, to get access to the wild places we love, and sell postcards for medical expenses.
